. Using everything from the earth of her native South Africa to trash bags and paint, Jackie Nach creaties mixed-media collage that speaks dramatically to the idiocyncrasies of human nature, racism in multiple manifestations, and the truths of her own experience.

Postcards have history and mystery. A collaged postcard is a curious combination of yesterdays and tomorrows, worked by the artist’s hand. View a slideshow of the winning and accepted entries for our Fall 2011 online Exhibition. All artwork is collage/mixed media and measures 4" x 6" (or 6" x 4").

Juror of Selection and Awards: Leslie Caldera. For more than 35 years, Mr. Caldera has been making assemblage with a spiritual/poetic dimension. He is also well known for his mail art. His work has been shown in dozens of exhibitions, and he has curated several others.

SNIPPETS, A Newsworthy Exhibition
April 28 – May 15, 2010 – VIVA Art Center, Sherman Oaks, CA

Collage Artists of America held their 2010 Spring exhibit at VIVA Art Center (CAA is one of the founding members of VIVA Art Center).

The Juror for this exhibit was Roy Dowell, a New York-born, Los Angeles-based California artist. For the past 20 years, he has been the Chair (and founder) of the graduate department at the Otis College of Art, and is currently represented by Margo Leavin Gallery. (Bio PDF)

The Fall 2009 Juried show of Collage Artists of America included members of CAA and other member groups of VIVA Art Center (Women Painters West, Valley Arists Guild, and Valley Watercolor Society, along with invited groups San Fernando Valley Art Club and Artist Co-op 7).

The Juror for this show was John Greco, Professor of Art, Santa Monica College. Primarily a printmaker, John has exhibited widely both here and abroad and is represented in many public and private collections. In judging a work of art he looks for "inventiveness, craftsmanship, and harmonies in composition and design"
